
MORAY CLIMATE ASSEMBLY

tsiMORAY founded and host the Moray Climate Assembly which serves as a cross-sector melting pot; catalysing action to deliver a just and green recovery. The assembly’s aim is to INSPIRE new thinking, provide a platform to SHARE the latest environmental actions in Moray, and CONNECT cross-sector change makers together. Anyone with an interest in tackling climate change in Moray is welcome to join this assembly.

PAST MCA EVENTS

The Moray Council specially requested an event to tell the assembly about the new proposed Moray Hydrogen Strategy and its role in the Moray Council's route to becoming net-zero by 2030. Chris De Beer, Global lead for Hydrogen for Mott MacDonald, presented an overview of Hydrogen and its role in the transition to net-zero.


The first Moray Climate Assembly of 2022 featured guest speaker Clare Symonds from Planning Democracy. Clare provided us with an overview of the Scottish Government's new proposed National Planning Framework 4, and how to get involved in the consultation on the framework. View event here.


The Moray Climate Assembly welcomed Richard Lochhead, Scottish Minister for Just Transition, and other local representatives, along with community members, to share their experiences of COP26. View event here.


tsiMORAY and Moray Chamber of Commerce combined forces to bring together a special climate assembly targeted at social enterprises and businesses. Helen Lavery of Zero Waste Scotland presented attendees with the Circular Economy model (reuse, repair, and remake). View event here.



We were delighted to welcome keynote speaker, Dr. Katherine Trebeck from the Wellbeing Economy Alliance to our third Moray Climate Assembly. Katherine used her wealth of experience to inspire us to consider ways to shift our local economy in Moray to one broadly focused on ‘sustainable wellbeing’. View event here.

The very first MCA took place in February and featured inspirational speaker, Dr. Martin Valenti, who encouraged us to take bold steps and to collaborate with all sectors. The event is available to watch here.
