The Fairer Moray Forum Action Group has come together to create events and activities for Challenge Poverty Week (4 - 10 October 2021).

They have joined the campaign along with hundreds of organisations across Scotland to highlight the reality of poverty and showcase solutions.
Everyone is welcome to attend the live events and to share the presentations, toolkits, and videos. For a list of events and activities please see below.
Monday 4 October 9.30am - 11.30am Moray Wellbeing Hub Bee Well Cafe @ Calum's Kitchen in Moray Sports Centre Elgin
Monthly drop-in sessions for any community members looking for wellbeing related peer-support and connection.
Monday 4 October 10am (Launch Date) Interview with The Lord Lieutenant of Moray
Major General Seymour Munro talks about the Moray Emergency Relief Fund, which has helped hundreds of people in Moray during the pandemic. View the recorded interview here.
Monday 4 October 2pm (Launch Date) Moray Food Plus - Presentations
Moray Food Plus has made two presentations for Challenge Poverty Week on the emergency food response in Moray during the pandemic. Both are available to view here.
Tuesday 5 October 10.30am - 12pm Outside the Box - Community Wealth Building - Tackling Poverty with Resilience

Tuesday 5 October 4pm Child Poverty Action Group - Cost of a School Day Toolkit
The Child Poverty Action Group has designed a new toolkit to get everyone in your school community involved in talking about cost barriers and how to overcome them. See here.
Wednesday 6 October 11am (Launch Date) Moray Baby Bank Promotional Video
Moray Baby Bank helps families in need by providing clothes and other baby essentials in Moray. Their new promotional video will be launched during Challenge Poverty Week. View here.
Wednesday 6 October 7pm - 8.30pm R-evolution for Good - Poverty and Abuse
Join Sue Dominey for a short workshop on Poverty & Domestic Abuse. Looking at the effects of poverty and the link to DA and vice versa. Book here.
Thursday 7 October 10am (Launch Date) Moray Citizens Advice Bureau - Promotional Video
Moray Citizens Advice Bureau has created a video for Challenge Poverty Week, which hears from staff and volunteers about the history of the organisation and the work that has been undertaken during the pandemic. Available to watch from Thursday on tsiMORAY Facebook page.
Thursday 7 October 2pm - 4pm Fairer Moray Forum Action Group - Public Meeting

Saturday 9 October 9am - 4pm Real Living Wage Roadshow
The Fairer Moray Forum Action Group will be traveling across Moray to raise awareness of Challenge Poverty Week. Come and ask for advice, and the team will have information on which agencies can support you if you have money worries.

Sunday 10 October 10am (Launch Date) Social Security Scotland - Current Benefits
This presentation will provide information on the various devolved benefits currently available from Social Security Scotland. Available to watch from Sunday on tsiMORAY Facebook page.
Sunday 10 October 2pm (Launch Date) Social Security Scotland - Child Disability Payment & Local Delivery Service Launch
This presentation will provide some high-level information on Child Disability Payment which will replace Disability Living Allowance for Children as well as an introduction to the Local Delivery service that will launch alongside Child Disability Payment from 22 November 2021.
