Have your say in Lossiemouth’s Future!

Lossiemouth Community Development Trust is asking for townsfolk to help write their development plan for the next five years.

The group, founded in 2014, was behind the successful campaign to replace the East Beach Bridge. Recently, LCDT has been collaborating with Lossiemouth Community Council, Lossie 2-3 Group and The Lossiemouth Business Association to provide funding for an immediate response to the Covid19 crisis.

Alan MacDonald, Chairman, said: “The Trust Board are delighted we could help by raising significant funds, however, we have agreed that we now need to focus on our core activity for the future which is why we need people to do this survey.”

To give a little more background the Trust produced a film with the help of Music and Drama students from Lossiemouth High School. You can see this here:

Now, in consultation with other local groups working for the good of the town, the Trust is asking people who live, work or have an interest in Lossiemouth to take part in the consultation by filling out a digital or a paper survey.

Donna Milne, Vice-Chair, said: “We are proud with what has been achieved in the last 5 years due to the dedication of the Board of Directors and the support of the Community. Completing the survey will enable the trust to plan the next five years. Thank you for your cooperation”

Findings of the survey will form the basis of the next Five-Year Plan of Lossiemouth Community Development Trust and will help them and their partner groups assisting with the consultation, to attract more funding into the area.

Michael Burns, Secretary of The Trust, said: “Completing the Survey will ensure that The Trust has the information to address the issues that are important to the whole community in the next 5 years.”

The Digital Survey can be found here and the film can be found online at https://www.lossietrust.org

Paper copies can be found at Co-op Food, Couldardbank Road, Lossiemouth IV31 6ED. Copies of the questionnaire can also be picked up from and returned to 10 James St, Lossiemouth IV31 6DD.

The closing date for responses is 1st May 2021

Work on the consultation is being supported by Moray Council
