TSI Scotland Network Position on Local Authority Cuts

Volunteers play an essential role in supporting our communities. However, due to financial pressures on public and third sector budgets we may be seeing cuts that impact on people volunteering.

TSI Scotland Network has developed a shared position on this issue.

In line with the Volunteer Scotland Charter, we too recognise that "volunteers should not carry out duties formerly carried out by paid workers nor should they be used to disguise the effects of non-filled vacancies or cuts in services.”
