Moray Climate Assembly: The Collective Adventure of Moray

Moray’s Climate Assembly kicked off with an inspiring and thought-provoking talk by Dr Martin Valenti, stretching many of our ideas about what could be possible when tackling climate change (video here, write up of meeting notes here). Making Moray a net-zero carbon economy will take dedicated action from all of us and across all sectors.

Please join us at the second Moray Climate Assembly where we will hear updates on what has happened since the first Assembly and hear directly from you about what actions you have been taking.

Join the Dots: Shifting Perspectives

Join us online for tsiMORAY’s annual conference serving community organisations, community practitioners and members of the public based or working in Moray, Scotland.

We have created a focused agenda to inspire a shift in perspectives as we continue to move through and beyond our current challenges. Keynote speaker Cormac Russell will offer his perspective on how we can focus on what's strong in people; viewing all in terms of the assets that they are to the community – rather than defining people only in terms of need – and place them firmly in the driving seat of service delivery.

Fairer Moray Forum Action Group

This newly established group is open to anyone in Moray working to reduce poverty.  The group's purpose is to come together, bring in all of the experience of everyone involved to co-design and implement direct actions to reduce poverty in Moray.

This will be done through partnership work between public and third sector members of the group, detailed in an Action Plan which will include timelines and identified leads.

Volunteer Managers' Network

We are delighted to welcome Jayne Burnett from Visiting Friends as a guest presenter for our meeting.

Jayne is the co-ordinator and volunteer manager of a long-standing community befriending project in Argyll. She'll be sharing what makes her project a bit unique and how it has embedded so well into their local community.

PAST EVENTS

2019

Whatever the question, community is the answer

2019’s Join the Dots was centred on community resilience.  We heard from two influential speakers – Kosha Joubert, Executive Director of the Global Ecovillage Network (GEN) and Alice Thompson, co-founder of Social Bite.

Led by participant feedback, last year’s Join the Dots saw a change in format with the removal of workshops in replace for more table discussions, and the introduction of interactive Q&A sessions with the use of the digital tool, Slido

The inclusion of Ecovillage Design Cards from GEN assisted in participant discussions about global challenges, and actions.
